7 Quick Takes - Take 2

-1-

The last time I did this was in September.  I thought I'd give it another try.  Why can't I get my numbers centered?  They are centered when I write this, but once I publish it, they are all left-aligned.

My heart breaks for the people of Haiti.  We don't watch much television that isn't recorded on our DVR and we don't get a newspaper, so I'm not usually very up to date on current events.  I've been reading coverage of the disaster in Haiti, though, and I wish there was more we could do to help the families who have lost so many of their loved ones.  It sure makes my problems seem tiny and insignificant.

Reese and Mara are both sick again, but I think we see a light at the end of the tunnel this morning.  Reese has been running fevers of 102+ since Monday evening.  She tested positive for the flu on Tuesday morning - Category A, which includes H1N1.  It could be H1N1, but it could be a different strain.  Both girls are on Tamiflu.  Mara already had the flu just before Christmas, but they put her on it just in case this is a different strain.  She's developed a little cough, but she's no where near as sick as poor Reese is.  We went back and forth about whether to get the H1N1 vaccine.  When we finally decided to get it, the pediatrician's office was out of it.  I won't think twice next flu season.  We've been sick off and on here for a month.  It stinks.

We've been watching so many cartoons because of our illnesses.  Yo Gabba Gabba is the craziest show I have ever seen.  I don't understand it at all.  Lazy Town is also crazy.  Karl thinks it is like a train wreck...we can't turn it off when it is on.  It is so weird.

My friend Jenny and I took our big girls to see The Princess and the Frog last weekend.  It was super cute and Reese had a great time.

My family is considering going on an Alaskan Cruise this summer.  I am so excited.  I really hope we can make it happen.

We had hoped to go to San Antonio today to witness the adoption finalization hearing for some friends and their beautiful little boy, Christian.  Fevers kept us from going, though.  We've known these friends for a long time and it seemed like they were waiting for a baby forever.  Now it seems like Christian has been here forever.  We're so sad we can't be there today.
