Pumpkin Patch

We visited the pumpkin patch at Sweet Berry Farms yesterday.  It started out great and ended with a melt down.  We did manage to get some adorable pictures .

7 Quick Takes - Take 1

-1-

Many of my other mommy friends participate in this.  It is not Friday, but I find myself with spare time right now, so I thought I'd give it a try.

-2-

Reese is supposed to start pre-school at St. William tomorrow.  She and I have both been looking forward to it.  She has the most adorable backpack and lunch box.  Well, this morning she woke up with a stuffy nose, which later turned into a runny nose and a fever!  Poor girl!  Hopefully she'll be better so that she can go to school on Thursday

-3-

Mara is crying in her crib right now.  It is 10:00 pm.  I just can't seem to get her sleeping routine down.  I'll admit, though, that I haven't tried very hard.

-4-

My birthday is on Wednesday.  Birthdays are so not fun anymore.  I'll be 32.  Bleh.  All I really want is to have dinner with my favorite guy and my two favorite girls.

-5-

Anyone want a dog?  Our dog is so sweet and so good with kids.  She would never hurt a fly, but she barks, sheds, licks and runs out the door whenever anyone walks in.  Life would be so much easier without her.  Isn't that a terrible thing to say?

-6-

When is it time for vacation again?

-7-

I just finished a slice of cherry cheesecake that my mom made.  It is so yummy!  Thanks Mom!  I love you!

It seems that I have to do this on or near Friday to use the Mister Linky.  Maybe next Friday I'l try again.

Mara Grace - 9 months old

Mara went in for her 9 month check up today!  The doctor is very impressed with her growth and said she looks fantastic.

Here are her stats:

Head circumference: 45.3 cm (75-90th percentile)

Weight: 18 pounds 9 ounces (50th percentile)

Height: 28 1/4 inches (75th percentile)

She's grown almost 10 inches since she was born...amazing!  She continues to be adorable, of course.  She is pulling up to a standing position and starting to cruise around the furniture.  Last night she pulled up on me while I was sitting on the floor and let go and stood on her own for 3 full seconds.  We don't think she meant to do it, but I think she will be walking before she is a year old.  She loves eating solid foods and will eat just about everything.  She says, "mama" "dada" "nana" and other babbling sounds.  She loves Storm, but her best friend is Reese.  She isn't the best sleeper on record, but she does okay.  Before we know it, it will November and we will be celebrating her first birthday!

At least she's being modest

Reese is taking swimming lessons.  In this class, the parents get into the pool with the kids, so Amy and I have been taking turns going to the pool with her.  Today was my day, so Reese and I headed out to the pool.

We had a good time.  Reese is really getting good at going under water and we even "dove" to the bottom of the pool together to get a toy.  She is also able to pull herself out of the pool all by herself if you take her over to the wall.

Since the class gets over close to 7pm, Reese sometimes falls asleep on the way home.  Because of this, we always make sure to change her into dry clothes before putting her in the van so we can put her right into bed if she is asleep when we get home.

We get out to the van and I tell Reese to stand just inside the sliding door so we can get her wet swim suit off.  She looks around and says to me, "No, Daddy! I don't want everyone to see my butt!"

Where do they come up with this stuff?
